CAPTURE & CREATE: UNDIP Inhum Alumni Reveal Secrets to Success in Creative Digital Business

Semarang, September 18, 2025 – The Information and Public Relations Study Program, Diponegoro University Vocational School, held an offline public lecture with two extraordinary speakers. With the theme “CAPTURE & CREATE: Building a Creative Digital Business with Event Organizing and Photography,” the event featured two successful alumni, Rizki Kurnia Widi, S.Tr.Si and Sabil Darell Nandawan, S.Tr.Si. Both shared inspiring experiences about entrepreneurship in the digital age.

The public lecture opened with a warm welcome from the Chief Executive, Deony Dewanggi Mulyono, M.I.Kom, who expressed his appreciation to all parties who supported the event. He also emphasized the important role of Information and Public Relations students in the digital era. “Social media has become the main space for building image, as well as an arena for competing ideas. This is where the role of Information and Public Relations students is very important. We are not only required to be able to process information, but also to be able to present it creatively, attractively, and impactfully,” he explained.

This was followed by a speech by the Head of the Information and Public Relations Study Program, Arifa Rachma Febriyani, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom, who emphasized the importance of this event as a forum for students to learn directly from the two speakers.

The two speakers were accompanied by two outstanding moderators who are lecturers in Information and Public Relations, namely Rizki Halim, S.E., M.I.Kom and Priskilla Primaningrum Demmasapo, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom, ensuring that the discussion was interactive and engaging.

The first speaker, Rizki Kurnia Widi, S.Tr.Si, Co-Founder of Langit Muda Foundation and event organizer practitioner, presented the topic “Entrepreneurship and Event Organizers in the Digital Age.” He emphasized that creativity, good communication, and the use of digital technology are the main assets in building an event organizer business.

“The event organizer business requires us to always be adaptive to trends. Creativity, good communication, and mastery of digital technology are the keys to survival and growth,” said Rizki.

Meanwhile, the second speaker, Sabil Darell Nandawan, S.Tr.Si, presented the topic “Turning Photography Hobby into a Source of Income.” He shared his journey in building a photography business, from his first client who paid him Rp75,000 to growing his business with dozens of clients and millions of rupiah in revenue.

“At first, I was just hunting for photos at CFD with small payments. But from there, I learned that consistency, clear branding, and the use of social media can make a business grow rapidly,” said Sabil.

This public lecture was a success. The presence of two alumni as speakers not only provided useful insights, but also proved that graduates of the Information and Public Relations Study Program are able to compete and thrive in the world of creative entrepreneurship.
