The Department of Information and Culture made a visit as a form of initiation of International cooperation with Thaksin University and Volunteer Spirit Association Thailand (VSA) on November 27-29, 2024. The visit was received by the Dean of International College, Dr. Pittayatorn Kaewkong on November 28, 2024 at Building B of Thaksin University’s Songkhla Campus. The team from the Department of Information and Culture itself amounted to 8 (eight) people led by Dr. Dra. Sri Indrahti, M.Hum. as Head of the Department of Information and Culture accompanied by the Head of the International Office of Vocational College, Diponegoro University, Fiitri Alfarisiy, S.Pd., M.Hum.
This initiative involves two study programs under the Department of Information and Culture, namely the Information and Public Relations Study Program and the Applied Foreign Language Study Program which will collaborate with the International College Thaksin University which includes the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education, in the field of the tridharma of higher education. The points of cooperation include international student exchange, visiting lecturer, and joint research. Thaksin University and Vocational College, Diponegoro University discussed the international programs offered by each university. Furthermore, both parties responded positively to the cooperation plan considering that both have the same field of science.
On the same occasion, Vocational College, Diponegoro University signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Volunteer Spirit Association Thailand (VSA) by the President of VSA, Laksana Rodtrakul regarding the exchange of students and lecturers in the scope of academic and international service. Furthermore, the Department of Information and Culture and VSA team visited the Songkhla Folklore Museum and Songkhla Oldtown. The visit, which was accompanied by one of the lecturers who is also the Head of International Office of Thaksin University, Ms. Diyaporn Wisamitanan, discussed the existence of links and allied cultures between Indonesia and Thailand seen from the collections in the Folklore Museum and the Songkhla Old Town area. This series of activities is a form and commitment of Vicational College, Diponegoro University to build and strengthen the university network globally.
