A team of students from the Information and Public Relations Study Program, Diponegoro University Vocational School, has made an achievement in the UMKM EXPO 2024 Video Content Competition. The four talented 5th semester students, namely Ani Tri Handayani, Armila Shifa Ayu Salsabila, Arwa Ikmalanaya, and Arthur Nagari, won 1st place in the competition organized by the Regional National Craft Council (DEKRANASDA) of Semarang.
The three-day competition, from November 28 to 30, 2024, took place in the historic area of Semarang’s Old Town, precisely at the Borsumy Building. This event is part of the annual Dekranasda Semarang Festival. However, what makes this year’s event even more special is the presence of the UMKM Expo with the concept of going upmarket, which features 40 superior local UMKM brands. The UNDIP team managed to amaze the judges with creative and innovative video content. Their videos not only succeeded in introducing MSME products attractively, but also in conveying a deep message about the importance of supporting local products.
The theory and practice in production courses that students have taken for 5 (five semesters) are able to equip students to be able to apply their knowledge and skills to become a reliable content creator. Not only that, the knowledge and skills applied can provide benefits to society. Through this victory, the UNDIP Information and Public Relations student team hopes to further increase public awareness of the importance of supporting local MSME products. Through the utilization of digital platforms and creativity, they want to contribute to the development of MSMEs in Semarang City.
