Semarang, December 18, 2024 – Universitas Diponegoro students have once again achieved a remarkable feat. Team WOLES, from the Information and Public Relations Study Program at the Vocational School of UNDIP, has won first place in the 2024 Creative Content Competition organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) as part of the UNS Creative and Innovative School program.

The team, consisting of Naufal Rifat Kurniawan, Fauziah Aulia Irawan, and Annisa Nur Az Zahrah, successfully outperformed other teams by raising the theme “Wayang Wong Lestari (Woles): A Digital and Community-Based Wayang Orang Campaign to Preserve Traditional Culture in Semarang City.” This theme aims to utilize digital media and community involvement to preserve the art of Wayang Orang as a part of Indonesia’s traditional cultural heritage.

The competition final, held on October 20, 2024, began with a series of essay writing rounds, followed by the creation of a creative campaign video, and concluded with an offline presentation at UNS. The competition was participated in by various prestigious universities in Indonesia, including the University of Indonesia (UI), Diponegoro University (Undip), and Sebelas Maret University (UNS). The UNDIP team successfully demonstrated exceptional creativity and innovation in conveying the message of cultural preservation through a campaign video that combined digital technology and a community-based approach.
